NAVELBINE® (Vinorelbine), originally discovered by the CNRS research team of Professor Pierre Potier, was developed into a finished drug by Pierre Fabre Médicament. It was granted its first registration in France in 1989 in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. Its indications were subsequently extended to metastatic breast cancer (1991) and hormone refractory prostate carcinoma (2003). Since then, NAVELBINE® has been registered the world over, notably in the US in 1994 and in Japan in 1999.
This new presentation of vinorelbine has demonstrated the same efficacy and the same tolerance as the injectable form, although at higher doses. It lends itself to the same combinations with other anti-cancer agents. It offers greater treatment flexibility and better comfort to patients receiving chemotherapy. NAVELBINE® Oral is already on the market for the treatment of lung cancer and of breast cancer
